I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

The House just voted that “each day for the remainder of the 119th Congress shall not constitute a calendar day for purposes of section 202 of the National Emergencies Act.” A day is not a day. Lewis Carroll, George Orwell, and Franz Kafka must all be chuckling — or weeping.

U.S. Web Design System was created by a collaborative team at 18F and the U.S. Digital Service in 2015. You’ve interacted with it if you’ve visited a .gov in the last decade
I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

I can’t stop thinking about how so many people voted for Trump because they thought he was going to punish people they hate and now he’s hurting them also.

Nothing to disagree with in the Arstechnica article. I already have coping mechanisms for all of eight of them.

Only recently learned about the amount of enshittification of sports viewing from a Search Party video. Sadly my coping on that one boils down to rarely watching sports.

Chaos is the goal. Destroying faith in institutions is the goal.

Here’s what I’m telling myself:
Reach out to your people.
Do what you can to not give up.
Do what you can to protect your peace.
Find ways to help and support the helpers.

Sen. Tim Kaine tells federal employees to ignore Trump’s offer to quit with pay for months. “Don’t be fooled. He’s tricked hundreds of people with that offer. If you accept that offer and resign he’ll stiff you just like he stiffed the contractors. He doesn’t have any authority to do this.”

I appreciate how this article integrated a cozy game! My only gripe is that the linked pubmed studies within the article are nearly invisible 🔎
New research backs up what gamers have thought for years: video games can be an antidote to stress and anxiety.
