Disney has a long history of being embarrassed by some of its best stuff just because it's on the dark side. It's really a shame that they didn't promote this as much as things later.

As someone who is a fan of characters Disney “accidentally” introduced me to and continues to ignore (see alt), I heavily related to Elio’s themes of loneliness and the desire to belong. So glad I watched it when I did!

I have no clue, Meeko/Pocahontas are there bc recently Disney is more comfortable crossing them all over in merchandise (this is part of a pin btw)

I have not watched the movie in like 6 years; they do imply he is the stepmom’s cat though so if he did survive I’d assume he’d still be with her. Dunno how Cindy would canonically have him (I am excluding the sequels here; as they were made by a different studio the canon is dubious)

Disney is really weird/finicky with select merch even with popular IPs. My guess is they push Lucifer as a “pet” extension of the Villains brand; I don’t think this is an intentional example but they seem to cross brands over more now for synergy
