Now it can be told: when editing Fantagraphics' One Saturday Morning comics anthology in 2022, I tried to include some rare Pepper Ann one-page gags created for the foreign market—but *this* epic Australian-only one slipped past me.

(Sorry, P.A. At 48, I was no longer cool enough for 7th grade.)
In a comic strip only ever published in English in Australia's editions of DISNEY ADVENTURES, Pepper Ann dozes off in history class and dreams of being "Pepper Antoinette," getting trundled off to the guillotine in 1793. "You may think you can kill me, but you can never kill my spirit," she hollers in her sleep, before waking up to find her classmates dying of laughter. "I guess I nearly lost my head there for a minute," P.A. tells us knowingly.

Of all the cartoons I watched as a Kid and rewatched as an adult, I have to say Pepper Ann has to be the one that's aged the best. Its relatable, really cutting edge with some of the topics covered and still relevant today, and really funny moments.

You know what would’ve made that McDonald toy promotion actually worth a damn? (wip)
The Space Couple is snubbed of merchandise again (are we really surprised at this point?) for the Disneyland 70th Happy Meal toy giveaway, so I took matters into my own hands. In the actual promotion, the Hatbox Ghost and Sleeping Beauty Castle are the only park-specific characters represented, not counting any “Mickey” or feature characters with attractions

Many of you will know that today is Mickey Mouse's birthday. My most knowledgeable followers will also know that today marks the 25th anniversary of my first day working at Disneyland! (They knew a future almanac author would want an important anniversary date.)
