Today I introduced smallpox eradication in the vaccines class I’m co-teaching w/ @jackiantonovich.bsky.social
A public health hero I learned about prepping for this class is Benjamin Rubin. He developed the bifurcated needle, & waived all royalties for needles manufactured under contract w/the WHO.

Is it possible for DNA to lag a little behind if the DpnI digested product was directly loaded onto the gel? I am expecting 5.5 kb bands, these are almost 5.8 if not 6. The plasmids were at 5.5 kb before I digested them.

I wonder if spreading extremely encouraging experimental results on helping treat pancreatic cancer with *gasp* mRNA vaccines may help people who have villainized them come around. This is a good press release on the study and links to the Nature paper. www.mskcc.org/news/can-mrn...

Stuck in protein expression. The proteins from lane 4 onwards should be 48kDa and yet they fall between 33-43kDa. Initially I thought it must have been some contamination so I did another transformation with fresh plasmid but still the same thing.
