The rise in retailers using gig apps to hire workers as freelancers rather than staff is extremely worrying. Shop workers end up losing out on significant employment rights.

The Crime Survey for England & Wales says incidents fell sharply from 1995 to 2024. ONS data shows crime in England & Wales is now at its lowest level on record. Burglary is 70% lower than in 2002-3, when current figures began. Domestic violence and car crime have dropped sharply since the 90s.

More than half of train drivers surveyed have had to request an emergency toilet break while. Many also shared concerns that if they call for an emergency break they would be disciplined.
