Pearl Harbour makes Top 10 but Tora, Tora, Tora misses out. I despair!
Personally, we're sad not to see Ice Cold in Alex in there. Surprised there was no Where Eagles Dare or Guns of Navarone.

What a wonderful poem!
Today’s poem is dedicated to all those who have taken it upon themselves to correct the grammar or spelling in my poems over the last few weeks.

It’s called ‘Pedents’.

14 years ago today I was aboard HMS Ark Royal heading out on its final journey around the UK. Incredible few days.

Really good piece in today's Times by @sarahditum.bsky.social on the Assisted Dying Bill. Although I'm broadly in favour of assisted dying, I agree with Sarah's conclusion "This bill is not the answer."

We’ll regret this rush towards assisted dying
Bill is speeding through parliament without proper discussion of legal and ethical consequences, or the effect on the NHS

My new favourite word. Am I therefore a snerdler @susiedent.bsky.social?
My word of the day (and personal recommendation) is ‘snerdling’ (18th century): nestling cosily beneath the covers and holding off the day a little longer.

Morning.

My first post on here on the same day I get my first King Charles banknote. Coincidence? I'll let you be the judge...
