USA has burned through much of the readily available crude oil reserves in USA. Extremely important for USA energy security to 1) build to a non-sprawl urban/commercial model for small/med/lg cities/towns across USA 2) Build modern infrastructure & transit (efficient, timely, reliable, affordable)

Crony vested interests (Govt & Corps colluding) gaining ownership/control of public utilities and the resulting bad outcomes (sewage pollution, poor water quality/availability) a direct result of tunnel vision profit$ motivation but not public interest

I doubt most boomers retire as multi-millionaires.. The 2008 GFC, and the 2020 Covid huge wealth transfers wiped out a lot of wealth, and further concentrated wealth, control, and ownership with establishment & billionaires.. Blame the crappy system, fake democracy, and bad Govt policies

True Govts need to create a Dept of Sustainability to create short/long term plans for thorough discussion before implementing. 1) Focusing on rebuilding and building to a non-sprawl urban/commercial model for small/med/lg cities/towns across USA. 2) Build modern infrastructure & transit + 3 more

The USA not taking a public transportation system seriously is part of the reason why the USA is falling behind other nations economically. Subways (for major cities) and high speed rail (between major cities) are important parts of any modern economy. Time for the USA to get a new vision & plans

My mom used to make something like this.. Make sure your teeth are solidly in your gums, or bye bye.. A good idea right after eating, brush your teeth, or cavities will magically appear lof

This was not be an issue with most people in UK if the Labor Govt built affordable housing (within urban limits near amenities & transit) for citizens (& eventually migrants), proper funding for NHS staffing Drs nurses & support staff, and improve economy. But sure blame the people

Robust AI/Tech revenues depend on a broad based economy with lots of business & job opportunities. If the business & job opportunities are not there, just how solid is the AI/Tech sector

It is almost there is an aversion for national political leaders to make viable achievable goals and plans towards more ecologically sound economies. How about we start with nations creating Dept of Sustainability to force serious goals and plans progress
November 23, 2025 at 1:28 AM
Time to regroup and push for Govts to develop solid ecologically sound policies. Creating Dept of Sustainability for clear vision & plans, might help ensure policies are not watered down or and are not unrealistic..

A bad setback. Not helped by the fact that many Govts made & make the mistake of pushing idealistic tunnel vision "climate" policies without scoping out all that is involved in moving to #sustainable; often vested interests compromised policies to divert public monies for private profit.

How about encourage transition most of the military to #sustainable economic activities on Earth, #growth economies for Space Development.. #G30 nations do need to move economies away from growth/consumption/sprawl dependencies for prosperity to far more ecologically sound #sustainable economies.
November 13, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Bugger that, Govt's take charge using their regulatory abilities and fiscal capacity to move economies away from growth/consumption/sprawl dependencies for prosperity to far more ecologically sound viable #sustainable economies. To ensure LT food/water/soil/nature/energy security.

Big trawling Co hauling in huge fish catches today, ruining fish habitat & food systems, so tomorrow there are few fish to catch. Short term thinking and unsustainable

The local authorities should fund dropping 5-10 ton rocks in and around the affected areas. The fishing company can't afford to replace their net at a cost of £40k-£50k a pop.
The rocks prevent trawling & create habitats for sea life.

Climate action that looks like: National Govts need to build a sustainable economy, stop urban/commercial sprawl, protect: farmland, natures land, waters, habitat & biodiversity, build 100% waste mgmt systems, modern efficient transit, move to Regenerative Ag, update the financial economic system

Mass industrial scale farms with not enough spacing and hygiene likely a contributor to diseases. The solution smaller more numerous farms with better conditions. Plus encourage more whole grains beans & veggies, less meat & dairy.
