Last night’s election wins were more than they appear…collectively they were a win for decency, inclusion, fairness, safety, love of neighbor and democracy. Now let’s end this shutdown, pay our government workers, feed our kids and make sure everyone has affordable healthcare. LFG.

Expand Medicare to all and we can solve this problem tomorrow…
Stark warning from Mississippi's Republican Insurance Commissioner: “I don’t know where America’s headed, but we've got to redefine how we address health insurance and health care in this country. If not, we will not have health care in the state of Mississippi in some areas, especially the Delta.”
Health Costs Will Soar for Many in Mississippi Without Action
About 331,000 Mississippians who rely on the Affordable Care Act could see their health insurance premiums jump by 37% on average unless Congress acts to extend COVID-19-era tax credits.

…and at the exact time the price of food is climbing. Beyond cruel…
The Trump administration has cancelled 4,304 deliveries to food banks so far this year, refusing to deliver 94 million pounds of contracted-for food. Food banks simply can’t feed people enough anymore. Millions of Americans are going hungry as a result.

This undersells what insurance exchange policyholders will feel if Congress doesn't act. The 18 percent increase is on the raw cost of insurance. But many will also lose enhanced subsidies that expire at the end of December. Those people will feel an average increase of *more than 75%.*

And this is just Ohio. So far, Congress has failed to act. They have 4 months. Clock is ticking…
Experts are warning that more than 500,000 Ohioans are poised to lose insurance subsidies starting next year. In many cases, the increased costs they’ll face will be so big that more than 100,000 will lose their coverage, they warn. ohiocapitaljournal.com/2025/08/18/h...

This is how you do healthcare…

Now do universal coverage, Governor.
We're putting affordability for working families at the top of our agenda — that starts with lowering the cost of prescription drugs.

We're also putting a stop to PBMs gaming the system and offering direct support to small independent pharmacies.

Every major health system in Louisiana is warning Speaker Mike Johnson and the rest of the state's congressional delegation that the Senate GOP's Medicaid cuts "would be historic in their devastation."

Spent years working to improve #healthcare at both state & federal levels. In 1 vote, Senate will deny care to 11 million people & strip $1.1 trillion from Medicaid, Medicare & Obamacare. Progress gone. What follows if people can’t access care? Death & disability.

Gotta love the Byrd Rule…😏
Brutal setbacks today for Senate Republicans on their Medicaid plans as the Parliamentarian has found many of the GOP savings plans run afoul of the Byrd Rule, and must be stripped from the Big Beautiful Bill. Makes it even more difficult to lash this bill together and get it done by next week.

We all want universal #healthcare. 73 other countries - representing 69% of the world’s population - have some form of it. How can US lead without it? Well, we can’t. Simple solution: Expand Medicare to all. With Part C - it’s a hybrid public/private choice…and it works. 😏
Kristi Noem doesn't need your prayers. She's got the super duper healthcare coverage that wealthy Americans hoard for themselves.

To be clear, the Americans who don't have healthcare don't need your prayers either. They need universal healthcare.
