Another possible role-model for Democrats?

Tim Miller analyzes a feisty new campaign ad by Scranton, PA mayor Paige Gebhardt Cognetti, who is now running for Congress in the midterms.

Went to visit my friends at Animal Care Center of NYC up on 110th Street. They’re extremely overcrowded with adoptable dogs and cats. It’s dire. I met Bass, one of dozens of dogs who need a forever home or even a foster. And if you adopt, tell them I sent you and they will waive the adoption fee.

This is oligarchy. This is obscene.

While 60% live paycheck to paycheck & kids go hungry, Jeff Bezos, worth $230 billion, goes to Venice on his $500 million yacht for a $20 million wedding & spends $5 million on a ring while his real tax rate is just 1.1%.

End this oligarchy.

Chuck Schumer should have been replaced 8 years ago.

One of the main reasons for the rise of American fascism is the cowardice from appeasement ‘centrists.’

When you feel like you need to move from protesting outside of USAID to protesting outside of Chuck Schumer’s office it’s time for a change. Let’s stop playing games. Let’s be honest with each other and as a party. This is not working and it is not acceptable. And this cannot continue.

Schumer’s decision is an unconscionable surrender that shows he does not have what it takes to meet this moment, and the charade he pulled yesterday makes it even worse. Time for new leadership in the Democratic Party.

AOC: It is almost unthinkable why Senate Democrats would vote to to hand the few pieces of leverage that we have away for free when we've been sent here to protect social security, protect medicaid, and protect medicare.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

Republicans’ partisan spending bill turns the federal government into a slush fund for Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

It’s unthinkable that any Senate Democrat would hand them a blank check by voting for cloture.

@schiff.senate.gov @padilla.senate.gov If Schumer votes for cloture and you do not immediately call for his resignation for betraying the ideals of the Democratic Party, I will not ever vote for either of you again, and will use every avenue in my power to make sure you are not re-elected.

US Rep Al Green removed by Trump's Nazi while others sat and watched or jeer at him. He stood up to Trump and told him he had no mandate to disrupt Medicaid for millions of people. Make a list of which politicians you are going to keep. So far it's a short list. #3E #SOTU
