Cycling, comics, medtech... yeah, let's start there.

For medtech, check out HC.show
I have a transcript out of Dropbox that was one block of text, with no paragraph breaks and no labeling of who was speaking. I exported it into a text file and uploaded it to Claude, asking the system to make it more legible. It's making it worlds better. So much time saved. #AI #usecase

hey remember that time Vangelis -- the synthesizer pioneer who did the soundtrack for Blade Runner ...

... recorded hours of music to be played during surgeries?

so the surgeons could just, like, chill out?

My new use case for AI tools like Perplexity & ChatGPT... correcting AI-generated podcast transcripts with surgeons.

SO many branded and technical terms

Alyssa Huffman predicts that more physicians will drive key changes in the coming years. With frustrations building over the current industry norms, physicians may be the key to addressing unmet needs in the market.

Trying to build a connection between a few applications using Replit... realizing that the much-more-mature-than-expected Zapier might be the right answer for what I'm trying to do.

I’m inordinately excited about a new spice rack in the back of our pantry door. Everything is alphabetized, and all is right with the world.

Here's an uncommon view in medtech: the product is the third most important thing in the surgery.

The first two?
1. The surgeon
2. The patient

Makes sense, but this big dose of humility isn't the current standard by any means.

My view for part of the morning.

I don’t think it’s really fair to call what I did mountain biking, but I feel safe calling it trail riding.

One of my favorite conversations this year: companies that try to appeal to everyone cannot resonate.

The companies that pick a narrower audience and really work to solve their problems are the ones that can be useful.

Anyone else suddenly getting bombed with beehiiv-powered newsletters?

Spam by newsletter is no fun.

Hosted a podcast episode today where the two guests were legitimate fans of one another: one a startup CEO and the other a startup board member who advises several companies.

It was a really fun dynamic. Two leaders bringing their respective strengths to bear.

Remember how Zoom shot up to become THE way people do online meetings?

I was on a Zoom call yesterday, and the person on the other end was really struggling. She only uses Teams and was really having trouble adapting.

Market dominance is such a fickle thing.

For medtech companies who want to move to more sustainable practices, it can seem like an overwhelming an massive overhaul, but it doesn't have to be that way. Sustainability consultant Jennifer Michelle explains how a roadmap is the best way to start implementing more sustainable practices.

At that point in the year where I'm eyeing goals for the year:
- reading
- bike riding

All that.

Thinking about reading 3 books a month: a novel, a business book, and a book on spirituality. Trying to be a well-rounded person.

Tomorrow, I'm going on a 76-mile bike ride with someone to celebrate their 76th birthday.

That's how I want to be when I grow up.

Marketing is a risk one way or another. Risk being forgotten / ignored, or risk landing with the wrong messaging entirely.

Relentless message testing means taking loads of "micro-risks" along with a few well-planned big risks to see how you can resonate with your advocates the most.

I don't regularly need Sparktoro's offering, but it provides more and more value each time I come back to it.

I'm specifically playing around with comparing different groups on the basis of slight differences in how they describe themselves in their bios.

Prepping an end of year podcast episode to highlight the content that made the biggest impact on me.

My criteria: which episodes did I actually talk about later on?

I feel like our guests brought wisdom on every episode, but I definitely found myself dwelling on a few key thoughts repeatedly.
