It's one thing I truly loathe about these assholes (who dominate our politics & culture now). They can't tolerate something good & pure *existing*. Even if it's no bother to them, no bother to anyone, they can't tolerate it. Nothing can live outside their control, their narrow boxes, their fear.

Even the Taco Bell cantina bowl is around ten bucks with tax and it is very close to literal slop

Listening to the most recent bulwark and PSA episodes makes me think that lots of the “political class” or whatever we call it are vastly underestimating the frustration and anger in the Dem base. It gets dismissed and “people mad on the internet” but internet people are real people too

I passed my state’s bar right after law school while doing the bar bri class all summer and pretty much just living the bar exam for two months. It was still hard. Mostly bc of our state doing a random essay section prepared by regular lawyers in addition to the MBE

To be in a loud and crowded cafe with tons of orders piling up and get a latte right and then do art on it is pretty crazy

i grew up in the south, born in the early 80's and just never heard of it. I knew the name gordon lightfoot but only from like time life folk music infomercials. i didn't really know any of his songs. i became aware of the whole thing via instagram a couple of years ago when the memes started

I didn’t grow up in the Great Lakes area and didn’t know the story. I heard the song and assumed it was some long ago thing no more recent than Titanic. Threw me for a loop to find out it sank in 1975.

If they were just going to run on things being crappy next year why even try the shutdown? They just put folks through pain for no benefit. They got no real concession from the GOP and now Dems are more pissed at their own party than they would have been if they’d just signed off on a cr in sept

Phantom Menace is bad. It’s still the worst of the movies, even more so than ROS bc that movie is at least pretty to look at, insane and constantly moving. TPM spends so long on tattooine and the payoff is a battle on Naboo that looks like it’s taking place on the windows xp desktop background.
