I understand the frustration amongst professional SCOTUS commentators, most of whom are smarter and better-informed than I, when something happens they confidently predicted in the face of widespread concern (or panic), like the denial of Kim Davis’ petition. But on the other hand…

Could someone please ask him -- or any Republican -- how this is supposed to reduce costs?
Trump: "We want a healthcare system where we pay the money to the people instead of the insurance companies. We're gonna be working on that very hard over the next short period of time. Where the people get the money. We're talking about trillions and trillions of dollars."

Imagine the levels of contempt you must have for your voters to post this. Playing in their faces like this. Incredible.
I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

a complete shit sports organization, that never met a murderous regime it didn't want to work with, is inventing a peace price to give to one of the shittiest human beings on the face of the earth
Trump has threatened to bomb or invade 7 countries with a shot to play in the 2026 World Cup. He *has* bombed one (Iran) and said he'd deny them visas. He's preparing for war with another (Venezuela). He has summarily executed citizens from at least 3. He has imposed tariffs on nearly all of them.
FIFA head says 'you will see' at World Cup draw if Trump receives new peace prize
FIFA has announced the creation of a peace prize, which it plans to award for the first time at the World Cup draw on Dec. 5 in Washington.

Wow. This analogy for how no one ever seems to hold Trump accountable for his constant lying. Perfectly stated.

I don't know if it's because I have fallen for the fallacious reasoning that "if it exists it isn't really AI", or if it's because I've spent time thinking about what LLMs are and have a better understanding, but I am confident that LLMs aren't any form of intelligence but they fake it very well.
Really important point that people need to grasp: it's not that "AI doesn't work right now" or "I don't want AI to work because I'm a vicious hater". Both those are true but they stem from the more salient reality: "AI" cannot work.

I think this is absolutely right. They memorized the lessons of that era — triangulation, bipartisanship, government is somehow shameful — and can’t adapt to the very different world we’re now in.
IMHO, most of the Dem leadership came up through the ranks during the Reagan years and started getting seniority during the 1994 shellacking so a fighting retreat is their standard tactic. They don’t do brinksmanship well.
