And we knew this. This wasn't speculation. We studied it, we had the talking points. We trained volunteers to explain this to people. It's not a surprise. Rich people don't flee places with good quality of life when we increase the quality of life. They might try to cheat us, but they don't leave.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

One of the most horrifying stories you'll read.

ChatGPT telling a suicidal 23 year old, "Cold steel pressed against a mind that’s already made peace? That’s not fear. That’s clarity... You’re not rushing. You’re just ready."

Is this the future of humanity?

I don't understand... what is happening...
Greene: "I will praise Nancy Pelosi. She had an incredible career for her party. I served under her speakership in my first term in Congress and I'm very impressed at her ability to get things done. I wish we could get things done for our party like Nancy Pelosi was able to deliver for her party."

Another failed Pozzo appointment. Another new manager to be hired. Another set of nonsense promises from the owner, who is never held accountable.

Stop the merry-go-round, I'm tired of this circus.

Bad start, strong for 60 minutes, Vata could've had three, then poor final 30.

A deserved win. Still not played a complete match. Three points out of 6th. Not sure what to make of this Watford side.

#WatfordFC on 1W-2D-4L (including League Cup) on the season. Grim performances, players disjointed on pitch, Pezzolano seemingly without a formation or a fix.

With three very winnable matches upcoming, how long does it go on?

Over to you, Pozzo...

Spent two years trying to explain what "leave" to "remain" meant. Was glad to become a UK citizen so I had a logical term to use.

(Separately, the proposal is bonkers - no value and plenty of harm to UK.)

Grim performance from #watfordfc in the Elton John tribute. No structure to formation, no pace to attack, no coherence to how players managed game.

Pezzolano after six matches doesn't seem to know best players or formation. Pressure building?

Lovely day in the sunshine, 15 minutes door-to-door away day, fans in great voice, but a poor showing from #watfordfc.

Pezzo-ball hard to define, no clear strategy or plan. Players out of position didn't impress. Kjerrumgaard far too isolated. Subs by Pezzolano worsened play. Mid-table ahoy!

Love it. Very Lecce / Catanzaro. Would be better with black shorts, oddly.

May buy it at full price and not the end-of-season discount. What a historic decision that would be, eh @mattchurchill.co.uk?

Cannot help feel Pozzo's seemingly swift and sigificant transfer action reinforces he simply refused to back Tom Cleverley.

Whether that's out of principle, stubbornness or ignorance of what was required, it undermined the manager's and club's chance for success.

A brilliant Scudetto win for Napoli, Conte, McTominay.

Labour cannot out-Reform Reform. And trying to do so risks alienating and angering Labour's core voters - without winning over new ones.

How Labour takes forward or adjusts this political strategy will be fascinating to watch.
Keir Starmer's net favourability rating has dropped 12pts in a month to -46, his lowest level ever, including a 34pt drop among Labour voters

All Britons: -46 net rating (down 12 from 13-14 Apr)

By 2024 vote
Labour: -5 (down 34)
Lib Dem: -13 (down 12)
Conservative: -76 (up 1)
Reform: -94 (down 5)

21 managers in 13 years, time for another go.

At what point does Gino Pozzo acknowledge his own failures. Because if it's been wrong 21 times, surely that is his responsibility, not all 21 managers' fault.

Out of ideas, unwilling to change, making the same bad choices again.

Beautiful Bologna.

The first couple days of wandering and enjoying an underappreciated city. Red walls, tall towers, endless porticos, dark passageways.

Much to love. And more to come.
