Victoria isn’t broke, its net assets are actually increasing

The reason it’s spending more than it’s collecting at present is it’s in the middle of massive infrastructure upgrades

The BCA is calling for more infrastructure and complaining about its cost..ffs

Don’t hobble Victoria with complaints about taxes, debt and deficit
Big business never tires of saying taxes are bad, yet those same companies thrive on the very services taxes pay for.

Over 2/3 of primary energy is wasted as heat.

The transition isn’t about matching that waste — it’s about outperforming it with efficient clean energy technology.

The fact we’re now offering free electricity for 3 hours a day in Australia, shows just how far renewables have come. We’ve gone from managing scarcity to managing abundance. ☀️⚡Energy isn’t the problem anymore — storage & timing are. The future grid is solar-soaked. #Renewables #EV #BESS #Solar
Australian households to get free electricity three hours a day
Saying there is enough solar power for everyone in the daytime, the federal government will direct retailers to provide three hours of free power every day to consumers.

Huge milestone, the fact that this happened on the one road with proper infrastructure over a long distance tells you everything.
“In May 2025, Scotland’s largest city [Glasgow] reached a milestone that would make any transportation planner in Portland or Montreal do a double take: during the morning rush hour, there were more bicycles than cars traveling along Victoria Road, a major artery…” Via @momentummag.bsky.social

How do we transform cities that surrendered to cars into great cities for people? Better ideas are the easy part — the hard part is making those ideas reality in an era of missing leadership and unprecedented lies and misinformation. That was my call-to-action today at #UtopianHours in Torino Italy!

I’ve been thinking about cities and their place in civitas. Engines of society and democracy as well as economy, our planning and transport decisions have made a right mess. But it’s never too late! I came across an oldie but a goodie worth a revisit to start with. openlibrary.org/books/OL4909...

“The big advantage of bikes is that they go directly from where you start to where you finish, when you need to go. The advantage over cars is that they need perhaps 1/10th of the amount of space. Roads that jam up quickly with cars can carry effectively unlimited numbers of people by bicycle.”

Gandhi is quoted as saying “we must be the change we wish to see in the world”. He also showed us we have more power than we know. So claim our power and get involved in what we care about. I’m passionate about cities and what they can be. Transport is a key part as is advocacy.
