Anyone else hearing #CMS may no longer reimburse for #video-telehealth visits or #telehealth visits in 2025? Seems like an option that helps many patients / improves access to #healthcare

There is a vaccine available for pregnant mothers (to pass on their immunity) and an antibody recommended for babies whose mothers didn’t get the vaccine. www.cdc.gov/rsv/vaccines...

The rate of antibiotic prescription for AECOPD by day 30 was significantly lower in the PCT-guided group than that in the GOLD-guided group (38% [88/229] vs 59% [134/226]; difference -21%; 95% confidence interval [CI], -30% to -12%; p<0.0001) in the ITT analysis. #idsky #medsky #EMIMCC

Another RCT showing PCT helps. Getting close to 30 of these. And that’s the difference between it and CRP. The former has RCT support. The latter doesn’t.
🆕🔥Multicenter OL RCT
Compared with the GOLD strategy,PCT-guided antibiotic therapy significantly 🔽 rate of antibiotic prescription for patients with AECOPD, without negatively affecting treatment success rate #idsky @bradspellberg.bsky.social

A few observations on BlueSky, after a week of use:

☞REPOSTS v LIKES: I don't see what others like, so reposts seem more powerful
☞LINKS: These consume the number of characters in the link, not a set amount (like Twitter)
☞SEARCH: I'm underwhelmed. It doesn't consistently result posts I know exist
