Telling Blue Moon is Ethan Hawke's "best performance ever" doesn't get me amped for the film so much as convince me the writer is due for a rewatch of First Reformed.

In only the last month or two it seems we had the best ever performance from Ethan Hawke, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lawrence, Rose Byrne, and Leonardo effing DiCaprio.

A remarkable string of good fortune? Or perhaps we are reaching up to that top shelf of hyperbole a little too fast?
