economic majoritarianism is and has always been how the left wins. it's how Zohran won. we lead with economic majoritarianism because that's where the majorities are, and it's why the left can win despite everything stacked against us.

Americans have terrible opinions about immigration, it's confirmed in poll after poll and election after election. I don't like it any more than you do.

broadly, what I think this shows is a party insufficiently committed to *politics* such that it can't act in the party's interests to hold a winning line if the line isn't also their deeply-held opinion

what I would say is that I think the group that broke is probably >8 but that's not the same as it being a strategy
