A picture of Tuna the psalmopoeus victori today. She turned out to be both gorgeous and female!

a) Best name ever
b) I'm so glad for you and Kittywampus that your relationship has survived the vet!

I hope it just registers with him as a fever dream!

Gertude here had to go to the vet in August. She's only just now, in November, allowing me to pet her again. The lady holds a grudge.

Every day I think "Surely I can't be more disappointed in humanity" and every day I'm proven wrong.

Phormictopi are my favorites b/c they are just ridiculous badasses.

Few years back a friend who grew up in Haiti was checking out my spiders, saw a large cancerides and suddenly yelled "Oh I remember those little assholes! They aren't afraid of anything!"

Had one AWOL for 9 months. Did just fine.

My recluses love teeny crickets. I have fed them well enough that they're too big for fruit flies now which is just ridiculous

That's how come I have several recluses at the moment in small terrariums. I found them during the winter last winter and kept thinking oh I should let them go when it gets nice. But now we're back in winter so...

I'm so tired of being disappointed in everyone and everything I used to even remotely trust
November 13, 2025 at 11:53 PM
To be clear, I'm not afraid of my hometown St. Louis in any way. I'm DEFINITELY not afraid of Charlotte.

Oh no, don't try to do that. You'll hurt yourself! I have less than zero rhythm. It's a curse.

What if Will Smith had slapped a baby? Or a tiny newborn kitten? Or a butterfly whose wings were already ragged from a strong wind?!? Won't somebody think of all the hypothetical entities that could possibly be slapped by the Prince of Bel-Air?

(Now you're thinking of that song, aren't you?)
