As the fed admin ✂️ programs that teach English to prospective citizens, ensure access to the Internet, help people with their taxes, etc, I acknwldg that libraries often provide all of these services. These (largely locally funded) institutions need our support + even MORE resources to do this work.
Free Library offers workshops to federal employees
Workshops hosted at various library locations will provide resources such as networking and resume help for laid off federal employees along with those facing potential job loss.

Leaders of Read Freely Alabama, a volunteer group that opposes book censorship in state libraries, started an online fundraiser after hearing about the funding pause.

Five days later, the community had reached its goal — $40,000 raised.
Alabama halted a library’s funding. Supporters raised the cash in days.
When a state board voted to pause payments while it determined whether a handful of books were in age-appropriate sections, the community came to the rescue.
