Never ever forget how this ASX-Listed, multi-national company treated everyday people.

Bled them dry, continued to pursue ex-franchisees in court even while they were being sued by the ACCC and in a class action, and after they were hammered in the media.

As far as I'm aware, RFG never apologised to brave whistleblowers like Devi Trimuryani, a small Michel's Patisserie owner who risked everything by speaking up.

We were proud to stand by all RFG franchisees and be a voice for them too. They deserved better and still deserve better.

Retail Food Group remains the worst company we have investigated in franchising.

To this day, we come across people impacted by them.

We are not surprised by this news, given RFG's awful conduct towards franchisees, mouldy cakes, & the class action.

1/12 - The Cosmetic Injectables industry in Australia is not a high standards industry that prioritises compliance, with the exception of some practitioners.

This is an important premise to my below comments on the article.

1/9. It's 2025 and as of 1 January, intentional underpayments are a criminal offence in Australia. A big chunk of my colleague's (@maddisonjohnstone.bsky.social) and my work in exposing so many underpayment scandals helped lead to this, starting with the mass systemic underpayments at 7-Eleven.

In Australia, it's 'easier to get a permit to destroy nature' than fix it. Here's why
Environmental protection laws are stopping nature from being repaired
Australia has big ambitions for restoring its degraded environment, but the very regulations meant to protect nature could be thwarting that progress.

Woolworths already has all the power. The suggestion that workers are acting in "bad faith" by taking such a stand against corporate greed is incredible.

Look at Woolies' massive underpayment bill. It is at least half a billion dollars.

Who are they to lecture others about good faith?

When we visited several Chatime stores in 2019, it became clear there was an underpayment issue. It's good to see both the franchisor & a director have been fined for their involvement.

Exploiting workers needs to be an expensive risk for industry, including holding directors personally liable.

It's a problematic take. If you bombard vulnerable groups with idealised visual marketing coupled with manipulative language and also erase the risks, there is no informed choice.

There's someone exploiting and profiting from insecurities.

It's frustrating that this message isn't getting through.

I spoke on ABC Brisbane radio today about the harm of cosmetic surgery advertising.

It is so interesting that those with vested interests in the cosmetic space proclaim that there is no issue with the advertising.

That we all have "choices" and are adults.

As someone who has done extensive research into Transurban, it's not shocking to hear this.

Transurban are experts in sidestepping questions.

No tolls *on* the Coomera Connector, ok but what about the roads around it?

Over the years, @mfraserau.bsky.social & I have recorded our concerns about the Coomera Connector becoming a toll road.

Over 8 years, we received thousands of complaints around the country about Transurban's conduct towards people & their egregious fees.

It's why we're concerned about more tolls.
