Well, I'm happy about that news...

What happened to "like-minded democracies"?

I suspect he is signalling (justifying) that Canada will be increasing trade with China, thereby switching from trading with one autocratic authoritarian controlling regime, to another, both of whom ignore many basic human rights of their citizens.

They all ignored the rising healthcare costs associated with ageing Boomers, or more likely preferred to let those to follow them worry about it to avoid risking not being re-elected by raising taxes to fund health care appropriately.

Politicians only do what they think will get them re-elected.

#LegaultMustGo Imagine my joy: I am weeks away from one surgery, months away from a second, and have three other issues that will require surgery after that. I may have time to die of old age before my issues all get addressed if Le-Go doesn’t stop this authoritarian crap.

I think the province tends more conservative/indépendatiste east of the Laurentides/Montreal/Eastern Townships from what I’ve seen. The areas that are more ‘touristy’ maybe less so, with the exception of Quebec City.

I was wondering how a 'massage' would get shipped...😉

There, fixed it for ya! 😉

I wouldn't mind if US meat and dairy stayed there. Until the food and health safeguards are back in place, I won't be eating anything from the US if I can help it...

That discriminatory attitude is alive and well, even among the younger Quebecois. Despite being 3/4 'pure laine', I have an ethnic familial surname by my choosing, and a slight English accent despite a French Mother Tongue. I get a *lot* of attitude; they assume I'm an 'anglo', or an 'importé'.

RRSP's are no longer a good deal. TFSA's, treated as an RRSP (ie, savings for retirement), are a much better deal. No tax on the interest earned, ever.

My parents NEVER talked about money. I taught my child about TFSAs, and using GIC's in TFSAs, and paying off credit card balances every month.

Of course turnip's plan is bad and favours Russia.
Russia will keep attacking Ukraine just like Israel is still attacking Palestine.

We had a Credit Union and could do this, automatic deduction to our accounts from our earnings. It's how I built my RRSP.

I would split any increase in income in three: 1/3 to savings, 1/3 to house budget, 1/3 to spending $.

I taught myself how to save, a co-worker taught me safe investing.

Those pockets may be bigger than you realize. I'm not as convinced as you that the choice to stay in Canada would be a slam dunk. After all, Legault got re-elected, and he has been leading the province towards independence covertly since day one. Else, why propose a Constitution?
November 22, 2025 at 3:50 PM
That's in Montreal. I'm not in Montreal, and in some regions, like mine, such a vote would be quite welcome, and the results would be overwhelmingly in favour of separation.
