We agree, right, that well-written novels about people wanting, embracing, suffocating inside, or wasting love are literary evocations of lives we have not lived, but for which we can feel empathy.
I don't understand why replacing "love" with "fear" in that sentence somehow invalidates "literary".

Look….. I know I’m an adult so it’s different…… but I feel like this year’s Christmas is the least Christmas-y I’ve ever experienced.
Personally, because of all of the horror we’ve had this year. But also commercially, I feel like even companies are phoning it in or not even acknowledging it.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

It's amazing how trumpism shattered my perception. I know i shouldn't publicly say "some people need to go". Let alone to millions of people, let alone to being the leader of a country, let alone to the people who control him. Subtlety is folly i guess.
