On the 80th anniversary of D-Day, I’m thinking of my great grandfather Mac (Max Rosenthal). 1 of the soldiers who liberated Ste.-Mère-Église.
1) Mac in 1942.
2) Dog tag and some of the shrapnel removed from his back.
3) His Purple Heart.
4) His Bronze Star.

So fantastic to get to hear an orchestra conducted by Jeff Russo play selections from the beautiful Ripley score and followed by a Q&A with him, creator Steven Zaillian, stars Andrew Scott, Dakota Fanning, Eliot Sumner, DP Robert Elswit, and production designer David Gropman.

Great to rewatch the fantastic Black Mirror episode “Beyond the Sea” on the big screen. And even better to hear creator Charlie Brooker and stars Josh Hartnett and Kate Mara talk about it afterwards with other members of the talented crew!

Loved seeing the first three episodes of Ripley on the big screen, but the best part was hearing about this film noir series from incredible writer/director Steven Zaillian.
