Democratic "Leaders" need to understand how close many are to just saying "screw it" and checking out. You think "oh well they are stuck with us, they can't turn Republican" are dead wrong.

I think that these 8 Senators are falling on the sword for Schumer and other Senators who wanted the shutdown to end. This allows the majority of Senators to save face; and only retiring or not up for reelection Senators take the heat.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

When the ACA prices spike, they'll lose millions of enrollees, because they can't afford it.
Then they'll all go to the ER for medical care, and EVERYONE will pay for it - it will cost more than preventative care, too.
I feel like after 40 years in insurance I'm surrounded by idiots.
