Ooh I often don't keep these, but I wrote this section for Banana Flower before I started writing the fic and never used it, so that counts I think :3
He knows Namjoon is asking him for something. His face is communicating something to Jungkook, and it’s frustrating to know that but to not be able to read it. Namjoon’s face is like a beautiful book but it’s written in morse code, or an ancient language Jungkook never learned. It hurts to know that there is a silent means of communication that’s travelling only in one direction between them, like a bus that drives from Seoul to Busan, but never returns. So much of Namjoon is lost on Jungkook, and while he’s never minded that too much before when it came to other people, now that lack feels like a painful loss. It makes him feel inept. Jungkook wonders how many months it would take to learn the language of Kim Namjoon. How many years in each other's company would a brain that lives as Jungkook’s does need to memorise the deviations in his dimples, to learn the science of what emotions flitter between those eyebrows? “I need you to tell me what I did wrong,” Jungkook whispers.
