With increasing severe weather, various parts of SE Qld have had extended periods without power - we did 60 hours earlier this year after the ex cyclone

Finished high school ridiculously young, didn't get into the dance degrees. Did classics and loved it, but realised I wasn't at the top level to be an academic. Realised I liked kids and lots of subjects, became a primary teacher. Liked upper primary and when they took 7s to high school....

I’m not at all surprised that someone got hurt by a local Parkrun participant. I tried to avoid one a few years ago by walking along the road instead of in the park and still got run off the the footpath

There are Australian teachers who are against both silent reading and watching a children’s news program (BTN) because ‘they’re not part of the curriculum’
They’ll then complain when the kids can’t do comprehension because they’ve built no background knowledge

I see so many people declaring gentle parenting as the reason for all faults when they’re usually referring to permissive or neglectful parenting
We used gentle parenting and the main result is that our kids aren’t scared that we’re going to physically hurt them. The consequences aren’t violent

My daughter has a simple three letter name which is constantly mispronounced
Her ballet duo partner has a relatively common name and at the last competition the adjudicator mispronounced both their names. They’ve taken them on as a stage persona 😆
