Data management mishaps are fascinating to me because we almost never learn explicitly how to handle our data, maybe *especially* when we work with the "small" kinds of data that don't need huge amounts of storage & specialized formats.

Other labs told us that this was just so astonishingly inappropriate of a question to ask that participants would walk right out of the room. But so the upshot is people read all about too-white research samples in the US, because we report that fact.

I do research with international collaborations; we track basic demographics like race and gender to be able to report how representative the sample is (often not very.) Buuuut it turns out sometimes it's flat out illegal in parts of the EU to ask someone what race they are 😬😬😬

I have a free trial to the Sales Navigator function for an ICORPS training program, and the AI system keeps popping up to let me know its analysis detected that FISHER PRICE has a specialty in BRAIN BULDING TOYS and so on, so that part is also going great.
