"Sometimes in life you run across a love unknown, without a reason it seems like you belong...I became somebody through loving you" -Dear Life, Anthony Hamilton (our wedding song)

Happy 12 years. Best decision ever. Spent the afternoon grilling steaks at the park before the chill got to us.

Have you given yourself a break this week? You can't fight if you're exhausted and/or burnt out. Put your feet up with a nice beverage and a good book for bit this weekend. Come back energized & focused. Thank you!!!

I am training for a cycling event at the end of this year. Todays 5.68 miles was hard- I haven't biked, or really done any exercise- since August 2024. My legs felt like trudging through mud. But you've gotta start somewhere and today was day 1 out of 236. Excited to see my progress.

My sincere hope is that the American 250 celebrations this year remind people that they once chose to radically change their society.

The Constitution did not come about because they meekly accepted rulers who abused and exploited them.

I have a confession: I very much, most certainly, do judge a book by its cover.

I grew up in the library, almost quite literally. I learned at an early age the importance and resources a library provides. Museums provide the same resource...knowledge, power, a way to connect to our past, our present and our future. #Istandwithlibraries #istandwithmuseums #imls

I heard someone say a while back that while winter looks like it's dead and hopeless, the trees and flowers are still working underneath the surface, preparing for spring. That's stuck with me. Despite what it seems, nature is constantly in progress. Never stop progressing. Spring has sprung.

Hey, in case you haven't noticed...More than 60 years of history, growth, culture and equality is currently and quite literally being erased. 25 steps forward, 500 steps back. Not cool.

This is a great read. When I traveled to Scotland last year, I felt an opening of my mind as I saw new ways to live and new ideas. #belikethescots #leftmyheartinscotland

Show rec: The Patient on Hulu and FX. Created by same writers who made The Americans. Carrell is great, Gleason is great. It gets dark but I've almost binged the whole season in 2 days.

Last week, following President Trump's executive orders on gender ideology, references to transgender and queer people were removed from the websites of the National Park Service's (NPS) Stonewall National Monument and other historic sites. Read AASLH's statement on this at tinyurl.com/4n7rawu2.

Driving home, Muse just hits different. Madness, Uprising...way underrated.
If I ever have the guts to do karaoke, Madness would be a top contender. 🎤🎙

This is a good read:

"Not everything happens for a reason. Things are not good. Admitting that things are not good is a form of self-care."
"Self-care starts with being honest with yourself: I don’t feel safe. I’m afraid of Gov. Bill Lee. I’m afraid of Donald Trump. I’m afraid that no one is going to stand up to them. There, I said it. Now LET’S FUCKING GOOOOOO!" @thecroftonshow.bsky.social www.nashvillescene.com/arts_culture...
