This week we started grouting our mosaics!🏛️

Started back in 2023, the project involves members building their mosaic of donated and beach-combed materials onto a reused garden tile to be laid into our Roman Kitchen Garden later this year!🏛️

You would have thought my son would have understood tv a bit better than this (but he’s only 11).

We’re watching tonight’s Islands episode together at home while I cook dinner - and he just asked me…
“Is this live?”

The Devil's Quoits, Oxfordshire.
Henge & stone circle dating from the late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age.
Levelled as part of a WWII runway construction the Quoits were restored between 2002-8. Stones were re-erected & missing stones replaced & the surrounding earthworks rebuilt. #StandingStoneSunday.

Announcing this #FindsFriday that we discovered the long-interpreted “Iron Age currency bar” from Hengistbury Head is, in fact, an #ironage saw!😍🤯

With colleagues Heather, Will and Hayden, we proved why x-raying as part of #conservation is so vital!

Woo #hillfortwednesday is also on here. Hoorah! To introduce to those who didn't know me elsewhere. I work around (& often with) the environs of The Trundle, hillfort of archaeological significance but also a magical place. It dominates the skyline of Chichester so 👋 to other hillforts today.

🌼Designed by Rachel Bingham and made from recycled tesserae. Inspired by the mosaic found at the 4th century villa in Sparsholt🌼
