I love all my classes, but my heart is especially full teaching Research Methods this semester. These are my first undergraduate sections of 100% English and English Education majors. It's so great teaching folks so passionate about reading, writing, language, art, social justice, and teaching. 🥹

Writing studies folks, does anyone has composition, PTW, or TESOL scholarship they like that addresses late work / flexible due dates? I'm working on finding a balance between accountability, consistency, equity, and empathy.

When creating PDFs, avoid using "Print to PDF." A screen reader user may still be able to access the text of PDFs created this way, but heading structure, alternative text, and any other tag structure will be lost. Using "Save As" or "Export" can preserve these tags.

Reviewing readings to teach my Critical Pedagogy graduate seminar, and I'm focusing in on this 2002 quote from Peter McLaren: "No emancipatory pedagogy will ever be built out of theories of behavior which view students as lazy, defiant, lacking in ambition, or genetically inferior." YES.

Teacher achievement of the day: a student told me about how comfortable he is in talking in class because he knows that if he gets something wrong, he won't be judged or shot down. So happy I've helped cultivate that atmosphere.
