I bought this Cleverhood for cycling but I’ve ended up using it more to walk to the 542 bus & Link in torrential rain than expected, pleased to report that the key to staying dry in Seattle does involve looking goofy as hell

And yes I do feel strongly about this as an Irish person. This is my cultural heritage! Going from door to door is an essential part of the tradition!

If using all schools instead of just K-5 ones, then plausibly many kids in the grey area near Lowell are within walking distance of say, Garfield High School or Meany Middle (which Lowell feeds to, iirc) but not their assigned elementary, but there’s still gaps I can’t explain that way

I think it’s more complicated than that - look at the enrollment area for Lowell Elementary, and compare it to the walkzone and the locations of schools. I would guess a lot of the kids attending Lowell aren’t in the walkzone of any elementary school. www.seattleschools.org/wp-content/u...
