The Vampire Ball is next weekend in Heidelberg, Germany. Part of me wants to pack and book flights and a suite at the Hotel St. Georg zum Ritter. Dancing with wild abandon while flirting with sexy bats and ghouls is really appealing to the 35-year old in my head, to the septuagenarian not so much.

I'm almost a year into my CKD journey and I miss so many foods that my body can't tolerate any more. I'm enjoying the challenge of modifying recipes to reduce the sodium and animal protein in my diet without sacrificing flavor. I'd like to share my recipes with others on the same journey.

Back in the 70s, I spent more than a year, on and off, embroidering this piece for a jacket. Fifty years later, it's on a different jacket, but still beautiful. Based on an album cover for a group called Mountain, the album is called Climbing.
