Day 5, Moon. The physical structures of phages are often compared to the shape and landing action of a lunar lander, with tail fibres reminiscent of the landing struts, to gently settle on the surface of its host. #Drawtober #SciArt #Phagesky

Telomere phages, once considered rare, are now found to be widespread in Klebsiella bacteria, suggesting these viruses may play a significant role in bacterial ecosystems.
Hiding in plain sight: Researchers uncover prevalence of 'curiosity' virus
A type of virus thought to be a "mere curiosity" is plentiful in one common bacteria, and possibly others, a Monash University-led research team has found.
