My point is not ultimately about self-conception of identity, though "Born This Way" fails for a lot of us on that level too.
I want us all to be cognizant, however, that demanding mercy for a characteristic we cannot change from a society going for Eugenics 2 is a VERY, VERY BAD IDEA.

Like I don't know gang, I think "Born This Way" was perhaps a historically necessary step, but we have ceded far too much ground to the idea that we are only this way because we don't have a choice.
