No one is an exception to becoming disabled. No one is immune to disability. Your health is not a guarantee. Even when you age, disability is almost inevitable at some point. Advocating for disabled people is advocating for your inevitable future.

Non Spanish-speakers: Translating someone’s name from Spanish to English w/o their permission is not only rude as hell, it is a form of discursive violence rooted in colonialist ideologies. Next one who does it to me gets their name switched to Spanish. Then I’m ignoring you tiI I decide otherwise

Happy Holidays to all those spending time with their chosen instead of their biological families. Just because your parents produced you doesn’t mean they deserve access to you. Hard to hear for many Latinxs, but so very true.

I listen to music a lot. Sometimes I listen to the same song on repeat for hours, over days, until I hear patterns of all sorts. Obsessive? ADHD? Yes, and also two of the reasons why I am very good at what I do. No one else listens to the song 1,000 times quite literally

Latinx studies is not possible w/o disability studies. Punto. We can’t talk about Latin America, much less Latin American migration, w/o accounting for the debilitation & disability generated by colonization, imperialism, US military occupation & the violence of the US migration process.

I believe many disabled people could thrive if they weren’t forced to exist in dangerous situations and/or below the poverty line.
