I have pictured here a pair of Piping Plovers (say that five times fast) who were hanging out together at Fort De Soto Park (near St. Petersburg, Florida) on March 11, 2025. The individual with the more pronounced black crown stripe and neck band is the male.

This Carolina Wren (𝑇ℎ𝑟𝑦𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑟𝑢𝑠 𝑙𝑢𝑑𝑜𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑢𝑠) was seen foraging for seeds left near a pipe on a snowy morning in Northeast Ohio. Cleveland Metroparks, Rocky River Nature Center, January 11, 2025.
