Is this the only time in history the price was lowered because something was pinky instead of rising?

I have so many questions. But mostly, minifigures don't naturally give each other piggybacks so have they specially designed something to make that happen? Or is it false advertising?

Basically Pilkey is brilliant and whatever you think of the Dogman universe just remember, it's *not for you* and the people who it is for get a lot out of it

They're not just for boys btw...his little sister enjoys them so much she tried to persuade me to buy her copies for her very own but I persuaded them to share. She also eagerly anticipates the movie.

(and the character drawing tutorials included at the end of every book helped develop a love of drawing in him too)

The Dogman books also have a spin off series Cat Kids Comic Book Club where some of the side characters make and discuss aspects of writing, drawing and plotting short comics. Within 2 weeks of getting the first book in that series my then 6yo nephew wrote his first comic strip

They do a brilliant job of fostering a love of reading in kids. I recommended them to a friend whose 6yo was reluctant to read himself and declaring his hatred of books. Now he is sneaking them to bed with him.

But as a librarian I LOVE what Dav Pilkey does for children's literacy. First of all the Dogman books, in text, are comics written by George and Harold from the Captain Underpants books, so only child logic need to apply (also, delightfully, it frames writing as something the kids can do themselves)

Some adults who've read the books to young kids like my parents have even gone so far as to malign the plots as nonsensical

This type of authenticity is particularly important with positive feedback, I think. Sometimes the areas for improvement are loudest in our minds so when we come to give positive feedback we end up saying something just to be nice...and it shows
