If you think Trump's march to authoritarian power is unstoppable - or already a fait accompli - just note how panicked and weak he was tonight and he wheedled and whined about nothing is his fault.

That's not a man who thinks he's winning.

My article is the front page of @theatlantic.com right now, so if you want straight talk, come on over.
It would help if news outlets mentioned that his behavior is deeply bizarre and abnormal. Against the style guide i guess.

All kidding aside, I am grateful to write for a magazine that I've been reading since college. And I often tell my colleagues that I can't look at the site when I'm on deadline, because I fall down the rabbit hole of reading *their* articles.
Now that’s a good company man!

Put Trump on TV 24/7
Critics seem divided between “I can’t believe they gave Trump free publicity” and “I’m so glad they exposed who Trump is”.

I'm not sure I agree. The Rob Reiner thing really broke through with a lot of people. And if thought things were fine, he wouldn't have gone on national TV and melted down like this.
How many people will this really break through to? I maintain that if you ask 10 random people tomorrow what they thought, eight will shrug and continue on in blissful ignorance.

No. Some reports are emerging that Wiles and others think he screwed the pooch the last time out trying to explain his successes, and so he decided to try again.

I hope he tries another few dozen times between now and the midterms.
Besides from damage control of his image by promoting his ‘achievements’ and attempting to gaslight people into believing everything is fine, do you think the timing of the address was such to detract from talk about Jack Smith’s appearance (even though it was closed door)?

So...

1. How much pressure was placed on the broadcast networks by FCC Chair Carr to air what turned out to be an idiotic tantrum?

2. How much of a mistake was it for the Trump regime to expose Trump's dementia/insanity to a much larger TV audience while preempting very popular programming?

Trump on Brown University: You would really have to ask the school about that because this was a school problem. They had their own guards, their own police, their own everything but you would have to ask that question to the school and not to the FBI.

This should not be happening to anyone.

What on earth could justify manhandling a tiny little woman who quite clearly didn't do anything wrong at all and posed no threat to anyone?

These guys are drunk on power. ICE needs to be disbanded and frankly most of them should be in jail.

Even if she had "hesitated to show her ID" (and apparently she didn't), you don't have to show your fucking papers in the United States. That's what you had to do in fucking Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia.

Fuck these fuckers forever. May each and every one of them rot in hell.

Some orders. The ones we felt like following.
They’re simultaneously arguing that soldiers have to follow all orders from the president, legal or not, but they get to ignore orders from a federal judge if they feel they’re not legal.

Really looks like the United States is about to launch a regime change war against Venezuela with:

-No casus belli
-No authorization from Congress
-No allies or international support
-No plan for a post-Maduro Venezuela
-No preparation for any sort of stabilization or containment of the fallout
