Remember that this holiday became what it is due to Coretta playing a MASTERFUL PR game that included getting Stevie Wonder to record his famous “Happy Birthday” song to garner public support for MLK Day as a federal holiday due to Republicans labeling him a terrorist after his assassination
Oh course we have to give Coretta Scott King her props on MLK Day too, especially because her advocacy is a big reason it's a federal holiday. Remember, she wasn't just a trophy wife raising the kids. She was a partner in the struggle & activist in her own right even at the time she met her husband.
