Excellent point. A small % of people knew or cared who Kirk was until he was killed and his death exploited by today's KKK. Interest in him dried up faster than hot blacktop at noon after a mid-Summer Florida sunshower. Not to mention everyone who became aware of who he was ended up being repelled.

I am, however, pretty disappointed that all her colleagues stood there quietly and said nothing in response, and no, I don't think "journalistic distance" or whatever the hell is a sufficient excuse for that.
