Happy to support a sustainable future. I’m in for renewable gas, mobiliteit, heat and electrity. Current focus on the balance between heat and electricity to solve grid problems.

In recent years I’ve seen a lot of misinformation around heat pumps.

Marek Miara at Heat Pumps Watch tackles misinformation in his recent article and delivers a strong reminder: many of the common objections simply don’t hold up.

The Spanish government is reporting that the cause of the massive blackout wasn't a lack of thermal power plants - rather that they failed to provide power at the time, acting 'inappropriately'.

Funny, after fossil lobbyists were so quick to blame renewables..

🔴New Paper!

We have developed the first, geospatial, measurement informed LCA of US LNG supply chains! No longer are we limited to treating US as a blob & instead look at specific supply chains!

I hope this provides some clarity to a lot of sloppy #LNG impact analyzes recently. #climate #EnergySky
Geospatial Life Cycle Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from US Liquefied Natural Gas Supply Chains
Growth in US liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports has increased concerns about the climate impacts of methane leakage along LNG supply chains. Current life cycle analysis (LCA) models of US LNG supply chains are based on emission estimates in national inventories that have been demonstrated to significantly underestimate emissions. In addition, recent top–down measurements of methane emissions exhibit significant subnational spatial and temporal variations across oil and gas (O&G) basins. In this study, we develop a geospatial, measurement-informed LCA model that incorporates recent top–down methane measurements to examine regional differences in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity of US LNG supply chains for delivery to Europe and Asia. For every megajoule of LNG shipped from the US, the energy-allocated GHG emission intensity of the Permian-UK LNG supply chain is 42% higher compared to the Marcellus-UK LNG supply chain. Differences in basin-specific, measurement-informed inventories are a key driver of disparities in supply chain LNG emission intensity. Developing measurement-informed, supply chain-specific lifecycle GHG emission assessments is critical to enabling a global market for differentiated natural gas.

Sure eLNG or bioLNG are options. Almost everything is better than extract fossil CO2.
When it comes to making a difference to curb fossil LNG, while delivering exceptional investment returns from earth friendly energy, think only NON-FOSSIL natural gas. made from renewable hydrogen and biogenic carbon. #energysky #hydrogen #stopfossilfuels #biogas #crypto #LNG #bitcoin #blockchain
From our recently published work, not all #LNG is the same. To deliver 1 MJ of LNG, you will need to extract 3-4x more energy from the ground if your source gas from the Permian basin in TX/NM compared to the Marcellus basin in PA/OH/WV! Your emissions will likewise follow.
