"The wealthy should pay our fair share in taxes. Period.”

Mainers are calling for the wealthy to pay their fair share. Two proposed bills would add a surcharge on millionaires and high-value capital gains, raising over $200 million for schools, infrastructure, and community services.

Your precolonial ancestors did not work themselves to exhaustion.

They understood the need for slowing down...for resting, & working in seasons & cycles.

Overworking & overgiving was not their norm.

IT WAS THE COLONIZER THAT TAUGHT US THAT.

Right now, the state legislature is considering a bill that will protect residents of manufactured housing communities (often called “mobile home parks”) from wealthy out-of-state corporations and legislators need to know that the public supports this! Sign our petition now:
Support Maine’s Manufactured Housing Communities and Protect Residents!
Whether you own a house in the Midcoast or rent an apartment in Lewiston, most of us would agree that no one should be priced out of their home by wealthy corporations. Right now, the state legislature is considering a bill that will protect residents of manufactured housing communities (often called “mobile home parks”) and legislators need to know that the public supports this! Can you sign this petition? Out-of-state corporate investors now own about one in five manufactured housing communities in Maine, and if we fail to protect these communities, tens of thousands of Mainers with low incomes will be at the mercy of rising lot rents. Rep. Cheryl Golek’s bill “An Act to Amend the Laws Governing Manufactured Home Parks” would protect these residents from rent gouging that could lead to financial ruin for families and devastation for communities. Lots of different kinds of people live in Maine’s manufactured housing communities. They include young families just starting out, older people, people with disabilities, veterans, and more. Most own their homes, but on average have lower incomes than people who don’t live in manufactured housing. And because their homes sit on property that they rent (and, contrary to what some believe, they typically can’t move their houses), they are more vulnerable to rent gouging as out-of-state corporate investors buy up the land their homes sit on. Sign on now to tell legislators that you support this bill to protect residents of manufactured housing communities!

The ideology of white supremacy & patriarchy is a collective self-esteem failure that prevented many people from building a self-worth on merit.
