Posting about those things here, and trying to make them better IRL.

Daley kid, forgive me, I wasn't familiar with your game.

Welcome to the war on cars!

It’s … oddly good???

Here is a raw photo from last night. But I don’t think the exposure is right, it was like 3 seconds iirc

Don’t forget to look directly north as well. Last night it was a full panorama

This was shot directly due west

The solar storm will blast the atmosphere with over 200 gigawatts of energy in the next 30 minutes. This is almost the same level of energy as the peak last night.

When the substorm hits there going to be quite a show

If you’re in line, stay in line

November 13, 2025 at 12:54 AM
Almost up to the same amount of charge we saw during the peak last night
November 13, 2025 at 12:46 AM
We are over 100 gigawatts in the next half hour. The show is coming!
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM

You have to wonder what @benszalinski.bsky.social thinks about his reporting being published by 'Inside Publications' (in print too!), with blatant editing that was not in the original...

TBH, don't think I'm going to the lake until I see this Bz go negative

November 12, 2025 at 11:19 PM
for reference, last night we troughed at like -55 Bz which i believe is a record for this solar cycle
November 12, 2025 at 10:41 PM
So far, the North/South direction (Bz) of the solar storm is stubbornly positive. This means the magnetosphere is not getting charged

But, 2 of the last 3 giant auroras also had a few initial hours where this was the case.

It looks like we are on a good downward trajectory now, need to go negative
November 12, 2025 at 10:36 PM
We need the Bz to go negative to charge up the magnetosphere

Its stubbornly positive rn
