After wreaking havoc at NIH and other critical agencies, Musk, Trump and minions are dismantling NSF. Where is congress and when will they intervene? 🧪
NEW: Today, NSF "disestablished" most of its scientific advisory committees.

These are committees of outside experts convened to help shape NSF programs. Only five statutorily required committees remain, the rest are gone.

NEW — After putting all Institute of Museum & Library Services (IMLS) employees on administrative leave Monday, I'm told DOGE is canceling congressionally-appropriated grants to state libraries across the entire country. Libraries are getting notice that funding was canceled as of 4/1.

Helpful info on #NIH grants
I am not going to call this a Bluetorial, because I do not want to sully that term (which, at least I, find joyful).

Let’s call it a Orwellial.

Confirmed (by many sources) news about 50 NIH Study Sections being allowed to announce meetings in the Federal Register.

As usual, MANY more questions than answers...

UPDATE: NIH CSR will soon be able to publish a small set of Federal Register Notices (FRNs) - 50 or so. The lead time between notice and meeting will be reduced back to 30 days (from 35).

ICs might be allowed to resume publishing FRNs next week. An "indefinite hold" on Councils remains.
NEW: The Trump administration is exploiting a loophole to keep funding frozen at the NIH - a move that some legal scholars say is illegal.

Federal Register notices are blocked, so no grant-review sessions can be scheduled.
