If you’re not aware of BiO’s Fast & Fair initiative, do listen to this podcast or find out more on the website (journals.biologists.com/bio/pages/fa...). We’re trying to tackle two big issues with the peer review process - how to make it quicker & how to recognise the crucial work of peer reviewers

My ranking of pies:

1. Pecan
2. Apple
3. Cherry
4. Blueberry
5. lemon meringue
6. key lime

But as a true southerner if #1 is not available, cake is preferred 😂

Azeen has this platform because women in astronomy helped her report major stories about alleged perpetrators of sexual misconduct in our field, like Lawrence Krauss. This is what she has done with the platform. It haunts me. 🔭
It's absolutely disgusting what the New York Times, and particularly Azeen Ghorayshi, is doing with its coverage of autism. It's so deeply irresponsible.

It's the same playbook they ran on trans kids.

I signed up!!
Why should I spend my time phone banking on the SUFS Aftyn campaign?

1. The numbers for a win are there! We have to get out the vote.

2. Calling works!

3. Putting out the science X democracy fire requires us to take back Congress. This gets us one seat closer to 218.

4. IT IS A WINNABLE RACE!
TAKE ACTION! Hit the phones with us on Saturday and Sunday for @aftynbehn4tn, and help bring sanity back to science policy. Sign up at zurl.co/5aOiP (linked in our bio) to get started. All you need is a phone and a zeal for action!

Well, this is chilling AF.

The Department of Education is suing Penn (in their quest for "combat antisemitism") requesting detailed information about Jewish faculty and staff.

Absolutely. Even if he weren't a damaged creep, his approach to scientific evidence is completely disqualifying.

We know the answer; We just don't have the science yet

There is no study that says that it is not true.

Bye, bye Bobby. You've "gone wild" enough. You going to kill lots of people.

The extent of the damage done to public health, biomedical science, and healthcare in the US in less than a year will take a generation or more to repair. This is the scale of the destruction. Let that sink in. A new president, Congress won't be enough to reverse things fully. It's that bad.
Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.
RFK Jr. Says He Instructed CDC to Change Vaccines and Autism Language on Website
In an interview, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cited gaps in vaccine safety research. His critics say he is ignoring a larger point: Vaccines save lives.

@jeremymberg.bsky.social posted a leaked #NIH memo today. I want to highlight a few scary parts.

They’re about taking power from scientists and experts and giving it to the president’s hacks. 1/ 🧪
