Politics, football, antifascism. I work for 38 Degrees. Trustee of Reprieve and IPPR. I liked Pope Francis.
Just been to see the greatest football painting of all time. An absolute beauty.

Higher taxes on the wealthy, especially via closing loopholes, is very popular in itself. Using the money to fund public services even more so. Labour made an election promise to ensure “those with the broadest shoulders” paid their fair share and won a mandate to do so.

My “I’m not involved in any smear campaigns” tshirt is prompting some questions already answered by my tshirt.

Norwich will win the champions league if I can save up enough money to buy the club, I announce to world.

Standing with my Jewish neighbours in the rain close to Heaton Park Shul. Antisemitism has been on the rise. When I go to Mass, there’s no security on the door. My kids don’t have drills to prepare for a possible attack. We can’t defeat hate with more hate, only with love, togetherness and action.

I joined @lewisgoodall.com to talk about the new polling we’ve done with survation. In the face of voter discontent about the cost of living a little and the NHS, the riskiest thing the government could do is to be cautious.

Let those who have never accidentally said they bought a house when they in fact did not buy a house throw the first stone.

I’m so old I can remember when the mainstream view was that racist riots were bad.

Jesus take the wheel. What a push notification to sent out.

Let’s just be serious for a second. This means that the UK will recognise the state of Palestine in September.

The proposed cuts to disability benefits are really frightening for people like 38 Degrees supporter Anna, who has stage four cancer and who relies on PIP. She shared her story with Good Morning Britain this morning to raise awareness and in the hope that the govt steps back from making these cuts.

I’ve been given a Father’s Day Eve gift of two rings (pictured) and also a visit to an imaginary petting farm. Being the number one dad in the world is earned not given but it comes with real rewards.

Buzzing to be at the cinema to watch peppa pig, again. The kids seem to be of the view they may have missed some of the deeper plot lines during previous viewings.

Private water companies have been failing for years while paying out massive bonuses to bosses. We’ve campaigned for action so I’m buzzing that the Secretary of State emailed our supporters directly to share that he’s banned 6 firms from paying out these bonuses. This is change we can get behind.

This is mega good news for @ippr.org and also for the wider progressive ecosystem. A really fantastic hire.

This from @torstenbell.bsky.social implies the new means test will exclude millionaires but ensure that non-millionaire pensioners will get winter fuel allowance again. That would be a sensible and good decision. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
