Nayra Guzmán was 15 days post C-section — going to see her baby in the NICU — when she was taken to Broadview and held in custody for about 34 hours.

She slept on a bench and barely got food. She couldn't pump.

Her story is a rare window into the growing detention of pregnant & postpartum people.
Her baby was in the NICU. She was in ICE detention.
Before Trump took office, postpartum immigrants were rarely detained by ICE. Nayra Guzmán was detained while her 15-day-old baby was in the NICU.

Bizarre that Markwayne Mullin is a U.S. Senator. But here we are.
A U.S. senator is justifying war crimes: the military acting as judge, jury, and executioner for non-capital offenses. A reminder that there is evidence innocent passengers were onboard these vessels.

I was already outraged about the Hegseth "kill them all" order. But reading Tom Nichols's piece, which goes in depth about all the issues it raises, converted the anger to nausea. Nevertheless, I recommend that you read it. Just have a barf bag handy.

Maybe they could (1) stay in Congress and (2) stop being potted plants.

1967, saying goodnight to my date outside the dorm. At Tulane. We looked up and saw a cigar-shaped light hurtling toward us, end over end. It was green at one end and red at the other. It rapidly got bigger, then apparently put on the brakes and hovered overhead. Just as quickly, it backed away.
Tell us all your story of seeing a UFO or something in the sky you simply couldn’t explain. 🍿

The clip made my chest hurt. I've seen women treated like this in the workplace, and it is painful.

But Obama wore a tan suit once, so I guess it's all the same.
I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.

GOPers saying "But what about Epstein's Democratic friends?" as if Democrats want to protect them. Hah!

We say, Go get 'em. Bill Clinton? Sure. Get him! Larry Summers? Same! Get him!

Usha Vance had better watch out -- she's being erased.

I've gotten numb to the point that I didn't think Trump's thugs could still make me cry. But they did. Zip ties on a 14 year old U.S. citizen. Their excuse: He's not a YOUNG child.

Except soybean sales will be half what they were before.

And giving them Nvidia chips will harm national security.

Another day in Trumpworld.
The Art of the Deal

Trump causes a massive problem with his stupid tariffs.

China outsmarts him by boycotting US farmers.

Trump gets an earful from farmers and blinks.

Trump agrees to reduce tariffs & give China advanced chips.

Soybean sales go back to same level before Trump screwed up trade.

That is some great momming right there.
so the three year-old told me she wants her baby brother to be “a little mean rock” for Halloween and I took this directive really seriously

[Epstein's] "Appointment calendars through 2019 show several meetings with ... longevity expert Dr. Peter Attia."

How'd that work out, Jeffrey?

www.cbsnews.com/news/jeffrey...
Jeffrey Epstein cultivated celebrity relationships for years. Many continued until his 2019 arrest for sex trafficking, documents show.
Jeffrey Epstein's schedule, flight logs and personal calendars detail his connections with high-profile people including Woody Allen and leaders in finance and public affairs.

Excellent Caine Mutiny reference.
If the mighty Kash Patel and his vaunted FBI can solve this persistent mystery, perhaps they will next move on to find the enemies within who stole the President's strawberries
First Amelia Earhart, now Jimmy Hoffa…

I never thought she was good at explaining/defending the admin's policies anyway. Turns out she's no good at explaining/defending herself either. I don't think it's Chotiner's fault, if that's what you're alleging.
To wit: Ms Jean-Pierre admires Joe Biden, thought he could win in 2024, and was angry at the way he was treated by the Party, and even though she didn't think Harris would win, she was personally hurt by the racism/sexism aimed at her.

Makes sense when laid out.. but I'm not being Chotinered.

My first MRI, they gave me a Xanax prior. I slid into the tube and enjoyed the music they were playing -- sounded like steel drums. So, not bad! Didn't need the Xanax after all. HAHAHAHAHA
Maybe it was a recreational MRI.

Maybe he just really likes the boomy tube.

We are spending 175 billion dollars on ICE to brutalize communities and traumatize children for life.

This is being done in your name, with your tax dollars, on our watch. Don’t look away.

Ah, yes. The 12 Waterford wineglasses in my basement read this. Now they are ashamed that they are so very few, yet proud that they -- like Mulrooney's 24 -- have never ever ever been used. In our 41 years of marriage.

The President isn't a renter in the White House, he's a guest. He's my guest, and your guest, and every American's guest. Not one houseguest at my house has ever torn down the house. Even the 120-pound dog that tried to eat the furniture.

Most presidents haven't had extensive litigation with the DOJ prior to taking office, tho.
“Are we going to have presidents from here on in who will be shaking down DOJ for money?” is a doozy
Jamie Raskin tells me he'll formally demand any and all communications between the White House and DOJ about these $230 million claims. He's set to push it at the next Judiciary Committee meeting, challenging Republicans.

Read these Raskin quotes, they're striking:

"Demolishing the White House" was not a campaign promise, was it?
a live look at the demolition of the White House's East Wing for Trump's ballroom

And yet. And yet. I did not expect him to actually tear down the White House itself.
