I agree that student debt has changed things, full grant for me was much easier than today's fees.

I'm not convinced "Inequality is increasing rapidly"*, UK gini is lower than in the 1990-2000 decade:

* happy to be corrected tho. I don't trust media on both sides, we have to work from actual data.

Maybe that graph should use a log scale?

The point still stands, but doesn't look so strong in this version. Also it looks like productivity is still rising after the dip caused by the financial crash. Sure it's a bit weak, I don't think it's as bad as people make out.

Nah. The mechanism is lower interest rates.

In the UK this raised the HPER in roughly the 1996-2004 period after the MPC was created. HPER has stayed roughly the same since then:

I don't know much about this, but I saw a post from someone who does (or seems to, anyway):

Very astute.

This doesn't seem like a good omen either, hopefully your techies can fix this soon:

Maybe manufacturing isn't very important nowadays anyway?

I think that was caused by the lower interest rates after inflation targeting was introduced. There was a one-off revaluation in the 1995-2004 era, and FTB HPER hasn't changed much since then (~5). The inflation target could change one day, but I doubt it.

Those were tax provisions (money that might be paid, in the future, sometime). Not an expert on where to look for US stock info, but I found this info on actual cash paid as tax on the sec website:

Absolutely not a fan of Tesla or Musk, but Yahoo says they earned $7bn and paid $1.8bn in tax. (Another site I looked gave the same figures.)

I tried rearranging Table 3 a bit.

Generalising, and looking at the major modifiable factors:
- avoid overweight, high blood pressure, diabetes, loneliness (no surprise)
- high HDL, high cognitive activity and moderate alcohol appear good!

Blood test results!

For people who are not aware, I eat a low carb, high fat diet with fairly high protein.
