Sorry, I think I was wrong about this part, at least in as far as most hardware for 4-bit or 8-bit FP can still be retasked to 32-bit FP.

Ironically this is already the case on the Bluesky protocol isn’t it? The official app may not permit it but there’s nothing to stop 3rd-party apps from showing them.
