I sat behind John Goodman while he was watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button alone in a movie theater. He ate the jumbo popcorn and an entire refill during the movie.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Steve Scalise, Mike Johnson, John Kennedy, Bill Cassidy, and the rest of the do-nothing Louisiana House and Senate delegations are going to sit idly by and let Donald Trump and Elon Musk destroy FEMA, which their state has relied on heavily and often for the past 20 years to simply keep existing
What?!

"Staff of the Federal Emergency Management Agency were left baffled on Monday after the head of the U.S. disaster agency said during a briefing that he had not been aware the country has a hurricane season, according to four sources familiar with the situation."

if I were the minority Senate leader I would simply have sent an even stronger letter with a minimum of *nine* very strong questions
Schumer on the Democratic response to Trump's shakedown of Harvard: "We sent him a very strong letter just the other day asking eight very strong questions."

The wildest thing about the government's handling of the Abrego Garcia case is that they have to know that the "due process" required by this Supreme Court would be extremely minimal, a rubber stamp. They could have brought him back already, gave him that minimal process, and sent him back out.

It's great that a federal judge, via a concurring opinion which has nothing at all to do with the case before him, is using the Federal Reporter like it is a place to make posts
CA5 Judge Ho uses a concurrence in death penalty case - not related to Trump in any way I can see on the face- to sketch out his position on the district courts straining to control Trump’s unlawful actions.

Incredible that a lawyer, Drew Ensign, has decided that the power and prestige that comes with arguing cases for the United States of America is worth filing pleadings that result in this type of scathing written opinion worthy of inclusion in a law school textbook. It's not worth it, Drew.
“It is difficult in some cases to get to the very heart of the matter. But in this case, it is not hard at all. The government is asserting a right to stash away residents of this country
in foreign prisons without the semblance of due process..”

The University of N.O. Limit Soldiers
Quite a day for the University of New Orleans. This morning it was reported the four of the team's top players have been suspended for a month b/c of suspected ties to sports betting.

Then the school announced Master P is its new President of Basketball Operations. unoprivateers.com/news/2025/2/...
